
Joe Paul is an Indian lyricist who primarily works in the Malayalam film industry. He began his career in music with the Malayalam movie You Too Brutus. As a music lyricist, he did some of his noteworthy lyrics include “Parayuvaan” (Ishq), “Madhu Pole”, “Saare”, “Podipaarana”, “Neerolam” (Dear Comrade), and “Nenchinakathu Lalettan” (Queen) ec.
Joe Paul was born in Kunnamkulam, Thrissur, Kerala to P. P. Paul and Baby Paul. He grew up in Elamkulam, Kochi. His family loved, admired and appreciated all forms of art and encouraged Joe and his brothers in every way they can. Joe’s childhood passion for singing and playing the harmonium unveiled opportunities in School/University arts festivals and contemporary music competitions. His interest in music also led him to learn piano, violin and guitar for short stints.
Joe was inspired by his older brother Jibesh who was into writing poetry. It was in High School that Joe started writing poems. Many leading newspapers of the time featured his articles. Joe graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from The College of Horticulture, KAU, Thrissur, and Masters from The University of Minnesota, St. Paul, USA. He pursues his professional career in Human Resources. He is settled in Dallas, the USA with his wife Dhanya and two boys, Samuel and Isaiah.
