Rafeeq Ahmed is an Indian poet and lyricist who mainly works in the Malayalam film industry. Rafeeq Ahamed was born on 17 December 1961 in Akkikavu, Trichur, to parents Syed Sajjad Hussain and Thithayikutty. He completed his graduation degree in English literature at Sree Krishna College, Kerala. He started his career through the Malayalam film Garshom, directed by P. T. Kunju Muhammed in 1999. His second project as a lyricist was Perumazhakkalam, music direction by M. Jayachandran. Rafeeq penned the lyrics of more than 600 songs for about 300 Malayalam films.
