
Govind Vasantha is an Indian music composer, singer, and violinist, best known for his evocative work in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. Born on 18 June 1988 in Irinjalakuda, Kerala, India, Govind Vasantha began his musical journey with formal training in classical violin. He initially gained recognition as the lead vocalist and violinist of the popular indie band Thaikkudam Bridge, which played a significant role in shaping his contemporary musical identity.
Govind Vasantha made his breakthrough as a film composer with the Malayalam film 96 (Tamil)’s Malayalam counterpart Premam’s era influence culminating in widespread acclaim for the Tamil film 96 (2018). The film’s soundtrack, especially songs like “Kaathalae Kaathalae” and the background score, established him as a composer with exceptional emotional depth and melodic sensibility.
He primarily works in the Malayalam and Tamil film industries, with occasional projects in Telugu and independent music.
