Ramesh Narayan is an Indian music composer, classical vocalist, and music producer who works mainly in Malayalam cinema. He was born on 3 November 1959 in Kuthuparamba, Kannur, Kerala, in a musical family background. His father Narayan Bhagavathar was a Carnatic musician, and his mother Narayani Amma was musical as well. He learned his early lessons in music from his parents and began his training in Carnatic music and later mastered the classical Hindustani style under the renowned Pandit Jasraj.
Narayan began his career in music composing for documentaries, films, and Indian television programs in Hindi, Malayalam, and Tamil. Some of his notable music works include Garshom, Saira, Meghamalhar, Makalkku, Makaramanju, Rathri Mazha, Edavappathy, Suryakantha, Ennu Ninte Moideen etc.
