Shreya Ghoshal Biography
Shreya Ghoshal is an Indian playback singer, composer, and music producer. She was born on 12 March 1984 in Berhampore, West Bengal to a Bengali Hindu family. Her father, Bishwajit Ghoshal is an electrical engineer and works for the Nuclear Power Corporation of India, and her mother’s name is Sarmistha Ghoshal. She has a younger brother, Soumyadeep Ghoshal. She started learning music at the age of four. Apart from playback singing, Shreya has appeared as a judge on several reality shows and she also appears in various music videos.
She has received four National Film Awards, two Tamil Nadu State Film Awards, seven Filmfare Awards, four Kerala State Film Awards including six for Best Female Playback Singer, and ten Filmfare Awards South. She has recorded songs for films and albums in various Indian languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam etc, and has established herself as a leading playback singer of Indian cinema.
